5 Awesome Facial Exercises For A Slimmer Face & Defined Jawline
Like we target our abs to reduce belly fat and work those biceps and triceps for strong, slender arms, we can also undertake a workout routine for a slimmer face and well-defined jawline. Made of 43 muscles, exercising the face has multiple benefits like:
Improved blood circulation for younger looking skin
Reduced fine lines and wrinkles
Toning up the jowls
Better jawline and cheekbone definition
Reduced double chin
Slender neck
Here are some quick-and-easy facial exercises you can do anytime, anywhere:
1) Face Chin-Ups
Stretching your neck, look up toward the ceiling. Now, open and close your mouth slowly for up to 10 reps/counts. The skin around your lower jaw should feel tight and stretched as you do so. Stop. Look down, and then do another set of 10 reps.
This is the easiest of all facial exercises and is excellent for your neck and to reduce your double chin.
2) Fish Face
Ditch the duck face and try the fish face instead. Pull the inside of your cheeks together to fill in the gap between the sides of your teeth. Hold for 5 seconds, and release to a smiling face. Do 1 set of 5 reps twice a day.
This exercise is one of the best facial exercises that will help improve blood flow in the cheeks to give you younger looking skin.
3) Wide-Eyed
Place both your hands on your forehead, pulling your skin up and back. While doing so, open your eyes as wide as possible. Hold for 5 seconds. Release and repeat the exercise for 2 sets of 10 reps every day.
This facial exercise helps reduce crow’s feet and fine lines around the eyes.
4) Lion’s Pose
Sit in a kneeling position. Clench your fists and take a deep breath in through your nose. Hold for 5 seconds. Now, exhale and release the air sharply through your mouth as you stick your tongue out long enough to touch your chin. Unclench your fists simultaneously.
This facial exercise helps improve overall muscle tone and blood circulation in the face.
5) Forehead Comb
Place both your hands on either side of the forehead. Now, using just your fingertips, apply pressure and roll out your skin from the center to either sides of the forehead simultaneously. Repeat 10 times.
This facial exercise works on reducing wrinkles and stress lines on the forehead.
